Radiant Pavilion 'Visitors'

Radiant Pavilion: Visitors
curated by Meredith Turnbull and Manon van Kouswijk
26 August - 2 September

Visitors is a group project curated by Meredith Turnbull and Manon van Kouswijk featuring 10 local and International artists exhibited in pairs across 4 gallery spaces. It is part of the program of Radiant Pavilion, Melbourne’s Contemporary Jewellery and Object Biennial.

Visitors will present a series of jewellery artworks that act as intermediaries or as portable wearable messages moving between gallery space and audience. The works will be shown in the galleries without interfering with their ongoing exhibition program, they act as ‘visitors’ that 'infiltrate’ the venue that ‘ hosts' this small collection of artworks. The project also has a performative aspect as gallery staff will activate individual jewellery pieces as they are invited on a daily basis to choose and wear the jewellery pieces during the exhibition period. The aim of the project is to initiate a dialogue across disciplines and contexts that will engage the audiences of some of Melbourne’s most dynamic inner city contemporary art spaces with the Radiant Pavilion audience and participants.
